Industrial Shelving FAQs
Common questions we get about our dynamic shelving answered here!
How tall should my shelving be?
Several factors are taken into consideration when determining the height of your shelving. Building restrictions as well as the products you are storing will play a big factor in that. We have standard heights ranging from 39 inches to 123 inches but also can provide taller units in special situations. We also offer high-rise and two-level systems if the space on site and your type of operation allows for it.
How much weight can I put on my shelf?
Capacities per shelf vary from 450 lbs up to 800 lbs depending on the size of the shelf. If additional capacity is required, reinforcing can be added.
Does the Rousseau shelving system you provide need to be bolted together?
While there can be some nuts and bolts required for items such as bracing and some of the accessories. The shelves themselves are typically supported by 4 shelf clips, which are easily adjusted on one-inch increments.
Can Rousseau modular drawers be installed in my shelving?
The short answer is yes. There are some restrictions on the size of shelving units that will accommodate drawers. Your Stor-it Systems consultant can guide you as to what size to properly select. FYI Rousseau modular drawers can be installed in many brands of shelving.
Does my shelving system need to be anchored to the floor?
Certain applications such as mezzanines and high-rise systems, along with installation of Rousseau modular drawers, may require that your shelving be anchored to the floor. Otherwise, as long as your shelving does not exceed a six to one height to depth ratio, it does not need to be anchored unless internally you have a policy which indicates it's necessary.
